Frank Baker Frank began his career almost 20 years ago with commercial and residential tile installations. He was drawn to the residential side of the business because of the endless array of design choices and his ability to focus on quality over quantity. “I love working with natural stone and innovative materials. I’m always intrigued by the intricate designs that can be developed with the proper vision and craftsmanship.” Frank spends significant energy identifying new cutting edge materials and design techniques and incorporating them into the shop’s offerings. He attends the stone and tile expositions every year to help identify the latest ideas and materials. Frank manages the stone fabrication shop and installation process and assists customers with their projects. “Quality and customer service are our top priorities. We want the customer to be happy before and after the job is done.” Frank attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado, majoring in art history. He received his B.S. in Environmental Studies (Geology) from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has served on the Tile Council of America, National Standard Specifications for the Installation of Ceramic Tile Committee. Frank spends as much time as possible with his wife and children and also enjoys hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, home landscaping and the constant pursuit of new and exciting materials for Stone Source. Anna Baker Anna has been involved with Stone Source from the beginning but started dedicating her full career resources to Stone Source in 2003. Prior to that time she was a real estate broker in the Chattanooga area. She also acquired and remodeled several homes for resale. “Working in the real estate business and remodeling homes helped me sharpen my eye for design and also helped me understand how to assist people in their effort to capture what appeals to them. Knowing good design is important but helping people plan a project that appeals to their preferences and compliments their lifestyle is just as critical to completing a successful project. Anna spends her time in the showroom helping customers realize their plans. “Helping customers at Stone Source is easier because we’re not worried about trying to persuade customers to choose something we have. We have such a large and innovative group of manufacturers to choose from, no matter what direction they go; we have products that will accommodate their needs. The biggest problem is often narrowing the focus from so many incredible options.” Anna earned a B.A. in English from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She spends the majority of her personal time raising her two children and enjoys horseback riding, hiking and fishing with her family. Dana Smith Dana with her husband, Blackwell, joined forces with Frank and Ann in 2005. She had been gaining experience in the construction and design industry working for several major Architectural & Design firms in Chattanooga. Her primary focus had been in the commercial side of the business, and like Frank, was eager to venture into residential design where the diversity and quality of projects greatly expanded. “I love helping people develop and then realize their design ideas. We have such a great selection of materials and such talented craftsmen; there really isn’t any limit to what is possible.” Dana spends most of her days in the showroom of Stone Source assisting clients with their projects. “We don’t just focus on design. We’re concerned with helping our customers stay within their budgets and complete their projects on time.” Dana graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.F.A. in Interior Design. She is a professional member of ASID and is a registered Interior Designer with the State of Tennessee. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her horses and her husband (in that order). Blackwell Smith Blackwell is a Chattanooga native and grew up on Lookout Mountain. He broke the mold early and ventured out to Marin County, California, shortly after graduating from High School, and began his career in the building trades. Part of that time he spent on plumbing projects for pre-1906 Victorian homes in San Francisco. He also attended San Francisco State and the University of Denver. He returned to Chattanooga after a decade of West Coast living, married Dana, his high school sweetheart, and began a 20 year career in industrial lubes and oils. He was able to return to his building trade roots when he joined Stone Source and, because of his early training, became the plumbing expert for the new lines of quality plumbing fixtures Stone Source was bringing to Chattanooga. “I enjoy helping people understand the value of quality design and craftsmanship in plumbing fixtures. The beauty, trouble free operation and life span of quality fixtures have a real value that is both economic and aesthetic.” Blackwell spends most of his time coordinating projects and assisting customers with their remodeling plans. “I’m proud of our company, that we stand for quality and craftsmanship and that we have an ethic of fairness and doing what we say we will do.” Blackwell is an avid sportsman who loves hunting, fishing and Tennessee Walking Horses. He and Dana live in North Georgia with their 5 horses. |
